About

The Alberta Homeless Foundation is grounded in over 15 years of experience in community service and advocacy by our leadership team. That deep, hands-on involvement shaped our understanding of the systemic gaps affecting unhoused individuals — and inspired the creation of an organization focused on action, dignity, and impact.

Recent research by the Calgary Homeless Foundation confirms what we’ve long observed: more and more individuals are falling into homelessness not because of addiction or mental illness, but simply because their incomes can’t keep up with the cost of living. We’re here to respond to that crisis with direct, compassionate action.

Currently operating out of Calgary, we deliver food, meal kits, and essential hygiene supplies to unhoused individuals and local shelters. Our work is expanding across Alberta, with a focus on empowering local communities — both urban and rural — to take care of their own.

We’re also deeply committed to involving youth. We believe the next generation is essential to building a more compassionate future, and we actively engage young volunteers in meaningful, hands-on service. Importantly, we are a 100% volunteer-run organization. No salaries are paid to directors or team.

Every donation goes directly toward supporting people experiencing homelessness through supplies, services, and direct outreach.

We believe that everyone deserves a place to call home, that together we can redefine futures, and that our collective efforts can make a lasting impact on homelessness in Alberta.
