About the Role

The Fundraising & Outreach Officer is the public face and growth engine of the Alberta Homeless Foundation. Working with high autonomy and initiative, they plan and execute donation drives (including door-to-door), cultivate partnerships, and convert outreach into sustainable funding. They build pipelines, craft pitches, organize volunteers, and run tight stewardship and reporting so every dollar is tracked and every donor feels valued. It’s a goal-driven, hands-on role for a planner who loves ownership, measures results, and represents AHF with professionalism and heart. We offer room to grow into becoming our fundraising lead.

Requirements

  • Represents AHF professionally: positive, respectful, mission-aligned language; follows brand voice and media/photo-consent rules

  • Operates with minimal oversight: sets weekly plans, executes independently, and reports progress proactively

  • High initiative: identifies prospects, proposes campaigns, and pilots small tests (A/B) without being asked

  • Plans and runs donation drives (incl. door-to-door): routes, permits/approvals, scripts, materials, float, volunteer briefings, safety check-ins

  • Partnership building: researches targets, books meetings, prepares one-pagers/pitch decks, drafts MOUs/sponsorship tiers

  • Donor stewardship: prompt thank-you workflows, receipts, impact updates, and retention touchpoints

  • Goal accountability: works to monthly KPIs (leads, meetings, conversion rate, $ raised, average gift, cost per dollar raised)

  • Compliance & ethics: adheres to fundraising laws, privacy, door-to-door guidelines, and conflict-of-interest policies

  • Data-driven: tracks campaign metrics, learns from results, and iterates to improve ROI

  • Cross-team coordination: aligns with Operations for inventory needs; obtains stories/photos responsibly for comms

  • Resource management: plans budgets, orders materials, and maintains outreach kits (badges, forms, QR codes)

  • Clear communicator: concise emails, meeting agendas, and post-meeting summaries with next steps and owners

  • Reliable: shows up on time, meets deadlines, and closes loops on all assigned leads
