About the Role
The Alberta Homeless Foundation (AHF) is seeking a Website Designer with experience in Wix to support the development and refinement of our public-facing website. The designer will be responsible for translating AHF’s mission, programs, and impact into a clear, professional, and accessible digital presence that builds trust with donors, partners, and the community. This role involves working closely with a small leadership team to implement content, improve user experience, and ensure the website is visually consistent, mobile-friendly, and easy to maintain. Experience with nonprofit or community-focused organizations is considered an asset.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience designing and building websites using Wix
Strong understanding of responsive design for desktop, tablet, and mobile
Ability to customize Wix templates to create a clean, professional nonprofit website
Experience building clear site structures with intuitive navigation and calls-to-action
Familiarity with integrating contact forms, embedded maps, and external donation links
Basic knowledge of SEO best practices and page optimization
Strong visual design skills with attention to accessibility and readability
Ability to work from existing content and translate outlines into polished web pages
Comfortable collaborating with a small leadership team and incorporating feedback
Experience with nonprofit or community-based organizations is an asset
